In my second year, I was given the opportunity to design NMiTE university's academic gowns (the first new university in Britain for 40 years) I was thrilled to find out that they had chosen my designs to take forward.
'I’m so grateful that I’ve had my designs become a reality and that they will hopefully last for many years. It’s been a privilege to work on and I’m thrilled that everyone at NMiTE loves them just as much as I do!'
With the CEO and Chancellor of NMiTE wearing the robe designs
My inspiration for the academic robe design came from NMiTE's own unique way of structuring courses, with the use of geometric shapes which will collectively form each student's academic pathway. This approach is a crucial part of the university and a critical part of the exciting and contemporary feel of NMiTE. I wanted to create a design that reflects the skills and knowledge that will be attained during a students time at NMiTE, with each polygon uniquely filled to represent the individual academic journey at NMiTE.
